Get to know our Opal People: Christina McIntosh

Christina McIntosh, Learning & Organisational Development Specialist, has worked with Opal for more than seven years in a range of Human Resources roles.

Christina is part of Opal’s Organisational Capability Team and she is responsible for partnering with team members across Australia and New Zealand. “I liaise with the business units and key employees to develop and review Opal’s learning curriculum and design learning materials and organisational learning programs,” Christina said.

“The most rewarding part of my job is the opportunity to help develop people and deliver on projects.”

Opal has five core values: Collaborative, Agile, Safe, Extraordinary and Trustworthy and the values that resonate most with Christina are Collaborative and Extraordinary. “What I value is truly collaborating with our people. I strive to learn, respect others and go into every situation with a curious mindset. If you do this more often, you learn something new and enable yourself and others to do great things. Collaboration enables people to be Extraordinary in their roles,” she said.

Christina was born and raised in the USA and when she was younger, she chose to stay in Australia while her family moved back to the USA. “I am proud of the person I am today, and since moving to Australia, I have become very resilient. I have achieved many things, including finishing my degree in psychology and business, and have obtained great job experience and opportunities,” she said.
