Reflex proudly supporting women and children in sport
The AFL Women’s (AFLW) season is underway, and you may have caught Reflex’s sponsorship with The Saints during one of their nail-biting matches this season.
As part of our commitment to supporting women in sport, Reflex backed the VFL Women’s Southern Saints in 2018, becoming the foundation sponsor of St Kilda’s AFLW side, who entered the national competition in 2020.
As part of our sponsorship, Reflex also proudly supports the South Metro Junior Football League (SMJFL). The SMJFL is the largest junior football league in Australia with over 479 teams across 76 divisions and 647 umpires. It provides a supportive and inclusive environment for age groups under 18.
In 2020 the SMJFL launched the “Community Fund,” taking aim at eliminating financial barriers to families and clubs from playing football, making SMJFL the only junior sports organisation that does not charge player fees.
The fund, which aligns with Opal’s own commitment to sustainable growth for future generations, is made possible thanks to sponsorships like ours. Witnessing transformations like that of Olivia Vesely whose journey began with the SMJFL and is now with St Kilda’s AFLW side, demonstrates the importance of providing opportunities like these for young people in sport.
