Sustainability Management at the Nippon Paper Group
In 2004 Nippon Paper signed the United Nations Global Compact which is the world’s largest voluntary corporate sustainability initiative.
The UN Global Compact aims to mobilise a global movement of sustainable companies and stakeholders and to make this happen, it supports companies to:
- do business responsibly by aligning their strategies and operations with Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption; and
- take strategic actions to advance broader societal goals, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with an emphasis on collaboration and innovation.
Nippon Paper promotes sustainability management that pursues both social and environmental sustainability and the future growth of the company. Under the 2030 Vision formulated in May 2021, Nippon Paper confirms that it will promote sustainability management as a comprehensive biomass company shaping the future with trees.
