Community partnerships

Our business reflects the communities we serve

At Opal, we work hard to build positive relationships with our customers, suppliers, team members, and the communities in which we operate. As one of Australia and New Zealand's leading recycling, paper and packaging businesses, our operations reflect the communities we serve which is why give back through sponsorships and grassroots initiatives.

Our major partnerships

Women in sport

Opal is proud to be a Co-Major Partner of the Saints’ AFLW program, supporting the club since its VFLW beginnings and through its transition into the AFLW. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to women’s sport, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and women in leadership.

Raising awareness of breast cancer research

Opal provides in-kind support to the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA). Teams across Australia and New Zealand are actively involved in raising awareness and demonstrating support for those affected by breast cancer, including initiatives such as the Mini-Field of Women.

We support community events across Australia and New Zealand

Variety Bash

Variety Bash

In Victoria, Opal regularly supports the Variety Bash to raise vital funds for children in need. This participation highlights the team's commitment to finding creative ways to give back to the Australian children and support rural communities.

Clean up Australia Day

Every year team members from the Botany Mill participate in Business Clean Up Australia Day at Purcell Park, actively contributing to the care and maintenance of the local environment.

Live Like Her Challenge

Our Queensland team participated in the Live Like Her challenge, raising more than $5,000 to help raise the awareness of homeless women over the age of 55.
