Opal’s Specialty Packaging team likes to think beyond the box when it comes to creating clever display boxes.

Apollo Patios, a leading manufacturer of patios and roofing, challenged Opal to design and manufacture a customised, high quality, eye catching yet functional display box that their Sales team and dealer network could use when showing customers Apollo Patio roofing options.

The Sales team had previously been relying on unboxed samples which sustained damage or bulky display cases. The samples needed to be taken out of the cases to show customers, and as they have sharp edges, they had to be handled carefully to avoid risk of injury.

Collaborating with Opal Specialty’s team, Apollo Patios designed a suite of display boxes that featured bespoke, precision-cut slots that offer a view through to the finished product. With smart engineering, the display box was crafted to be dual sided so it can be flipped, giving customers the option to view the ceiling-side and outside patio roof, with no need to remove the samples from the display box.

Cameron Taylor, Marketing Manager, Apollo Patios said by featuring display cut outs in the boxes, the samples could be easily viewed, inviting a customer to engage with the product and understand it’s application.

“The display boxes are a clever alternative to what we’ve used in the past and importantly, we wanted a professional looking, cost-effective solution to house our high-quality finished products”, said Mr Taylor.

“Opal’s Specialty Packaging team ticked all the boxes for us. The display boxes are flat packed and super easy and fast for us to assemble. Partnering with Opal, we were able to print eye catching designs and incorporate ceiling and roofing colour options.”

Made from durable cardboard, the boxes can be fully recycled at end of life.
