Opal has been announced as the Naming Rights partner and Major Sponsor of the Launceston City Football Club Juventus Academy and Scholarship program in 2023/2024.

Opal is the only Tasmanian-based manufacturer of corrugated cardboard packaging, and we’re proud to support local jobs and partner with Juventus, a club supported by team members and their families.

In March, Launceston City FC had their season launch event and received great feedback from supporters, life members, sponsors and players.

More than 100 people attended the evening where Dez Giraldi, Opal’s State Sales Manager for Victoria/Tasmania, kicked off the night. Dez is an ex-professional football player and spoke about his national and international career at the event.

The club  introduced and welcomed both National Premier League Tasmania and National Premier League Tasmania Under 21 squads at the launch event.

Opal looks forward to supporting the growth of the junior development academy and Tasmanian youth football.

We are excited to announce Opal as Naming Rights partner of our Juventus Academy. The commitment and investment to supporting our juniors as they embark and discover the world game, and playing with their friends, cannot be underestimated.

At the Season Launch we were joined by Opal’s State Sales Manager for Victoria/Tasmania, Dez Giraldi to formally make the announcement.

Dez spoke from experience of his own personal journey in football, having himself been a former A-League player with Adelaide United and Sydney FC, as well as in Italy’s Serie A with Empoli.
