Seven years, seven volunteers and seven bags of litter
For the seventh year running, Opal’s Paper & Recycling Botany Mill team members participated in Business Clean Up Australia Day.
A dedicated team of seven donned their gloves and helped clean up Purcell Park, a community park owned by Opal Paper & Recycling Botany Mill and used by the local residents.
“Many trees and shrubs have been removed from the parks perimeter over the last 12 months, so while the team didn’t collect the large furniture items like previous years, seven large bags of litter were removed from the park,” said Karen Jones, Environment, Testing and Management Systems Manager.
Clean up Australia Day is the nation’s largest community-based environmental event and has been running for more than 30 years.
Well done to the Botany Mill team for helping clean up Australia and improve the local environment.
