Opal welcomes the Commonwealth Government’s commitment to restore Australia’s domestic gas supply and market pricing to globally competitive conditions.
Opal has won a Gold award for Sustainable Packaging Design of the Year – Product Protection at the 2020 Australasian Packaging Innovation & Design (PIDA) Awards. The award was presented for Opal’s Moulded Paper Insert; a renewable alternative to plastic inserts for protecting fresh produce.

Opal Australian Paper Maryvale is one of the largest employers in the Latrobe Valley with approximately 850 full time employees. When flow on effects are taken into account, we support 2,387 jobs and contribute $451 million to the economy of the Latrobe Valley region.
Opal Australian Paper is pleased to announce a partnership with Mainstream Aquaculture and the Victorian Government to conduct a $1.24 million feasibility study to the viability of constructing a state of the art, indoor aquaculture facility, to farm barramundi in the Latrobe Valley.
