Maryvale Energy from Waste project secures $48.2M grant

The Maryvale Energy from Waste (EfW) project has received a $48.2 million grant through the Australian Government’s Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI).

The Hon Darren Chester MP, Member for Gippsland confirmed the grant today at Opal Australian Paper’s Maryvale Mill, where the EfW facility will be co-located. The Maryvale EfW facility will reduce the site’s reliance on gas and electricity and assist in securing its energy requirements into the future.

Maryvale Energy from Waste project moving forward

The Maryvale Energy from Waste (EfW) project has marked three important milestones in its plan to deliver a state-of-the-art EfW facility, located at the Maryvale Mill in Victoria. These include Masdar and Tribe becoming equity partners, ACCIONA selected as the construction partner and SUEZ Australia and New Zealand committed 150,000 tonnes of waste per annum.

Maryvale Aquaculture Feasibility Study

Opal Australian Paper is pleased to announce a partnership with Mainstream Aquaculture and the Victorian Government to conduct a $1.24 million feasibility study to the viability of constructing a state of the art, indoor aquaculture facility, to farm barramundi in the Latrobe Valley.
