Opal’s New Zealand team bring smiles to thousands of Kiwi children this Christmas
Opal’s New Zealand team is passionate about bringing smiles to the faces of thousands of Kiwi children who are living in hardship this Christmas.
For the past five years, Opal’s New Zealand team has supported Variety New Zealand and collaborated with The Warehouse Group to deliver the ‘Be the Joy’ campaign.
Demonstrating Opal’s integrated value chain, a number of divisions worked together to produce festive gift boxes that are donated to The Warehouse Group who fill them with gifts that are then delivered to a child in need, through Variety.
Opal Kiwi Packaging supplied the board for the boxes and our graphic artist designed the boxes. The design changes each year, with this year’s boxes printed in black and red on kraft board. Opal Specialty Packaging then converted the boxes into the finished gift boxes, which are made using 100 per cent recycled board and can be recycled after use.
Andrea Bartley, Account Manager at Opal Specialty Packaging has been involved in the campaign over the last five years.
“Since I have been involved, the number of gift boxes needed has increased greatly from approximately 7,000 – to this year’s staggering 12,000,” Andrea said.
“The team at our sites really get behind this as they understand who we are doing this for, why we do it and that it’s a really worthy cause.”
You can bring a smile to the face of a child this Christmas by purchasing a $10 gift card at any The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, Noel Leeming or Torpedo7 Group Ltd stores, and The Warehouse will provide a $25 gift to a child presented in a beautiful gift box. Or make a donation online.
