As a major manufacturer in Australia and New Zealand and a member of the Nippon Paper Group, Opal is committed to driving growth in sustainable packaging and supporting local jobs.

In line with its Vision of Opal shapes the future through sustainable packaging, Opal has announced today that it is investing more than $140M to construct a state-of-the-art, high speed regional manufacturing facility for cardboard packaging.

The facility will be developed in two stages. Stage One involves the construction of a highly automated, sophisticated 47,000m2 manufacturing site, located at the Logic Wodonga industrial estate at Barnawartha. Stage Two would extend the facility’s supply capacity to meet growth in demand, through emerging technologies.
