BCNA's purpose, role and future focus

Purpose: To ensure all Australians affected by breast cancer have access to the very best care, treatment and support.

Role: To inform, support, connect and be the voice for all Australians affected by breast cancer.

Future focus: All Australians affected by breast cancer, no matter who or where they are. This includes those diagnosed and their supporters - family, children, friends and colleagues who are also affected by the diagnosis of a loved one. More than 20,000 newly diagnosed and over 150,000 members benefit from BCNA’s support services every year. BCNA’s advocacy work benefits all those with breast cancer.

Mini-Field of Women program

Opal has been a long-standing supporter of Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) since 2005 and we are proud to continue our support through the iconic Mini-Field of Women program across 2023.

As the Principal Partner of BCNA’s Mini-Field of Women program, Opal is enhancing the experience of people participating in Mini-Field of Women events in communities across Australia, helping to create greater impact for the program, and demonstrating our support for BCNA’s core objectives.

Opal has taken great pride in working with BCNA to develop new, innovative and sustainable indoor Mini-Field of Women event kits, tribute boxes, and tribute booths that are designed to give event participants a private space to write their tributes.

The kit components are made up of at least 75 per cent recycled materials and are designed to be reused and then recycled when they can’t be reused further.

Mini-Field of Women events are an important way to pay tribute to those people in our local communities impacted by breast cancer and Opal is proud to be the Principal Partner of BCNA’s Mini-Field of Women program.
