More than a dozen forward-thinking Victorian councils have committed their non-recyclable household waste to the Maryvale Energy from Waste (EfW) project, which is the most progressed of its kind in Victoria, to help divert it from landfill.
The Maryvale Energy from Waste (EfW) project has been successfully awarded the first Energy from Waste licence from Recycling Victoria under the Waste to Energy Scheme.
Opal’s application to EPA Victoria regarding a development licence (DL) is now being publicly advertised on the Engage Victoria website.
Opal made a submission to the EPA on 27 March 2023 providing an overview of proposed changes at the Maryvale Mill.
The Maryvale Energy from Waste (EfW) project, led by consortium partners Opal, Veolia and Masdar Tribe Australia, is going from strength to strength following the signing of the grant agreement for $48.2 million under the Manufacturing Collaboration Stream of the Modern Manufacturing Initiative (MMI).
